In Loving Memory of Meelie
Meelie was the heart of our farm — our boy, our gentle soul, and a presence that can never be replaced. Intelligent, calm, and quietly expressive, he had a way of making himself known without ever demanding attention. Most days, long before feeding time, he would wander up to the house and wait patiently, reminding us that he was there, watching, trusting, and ready.
Feeding time was always on his terms. He knew the routine well and often arrived early, lingering nearby, content simply to be close. Meelie had a deep sensitivity to his surroundings — music included. Mark Knopfler’s melodies would often cause him to pause, listening intently, taking in the rhythm and sound as if the music spoke directly to him.
His presence brought peace. His nature taught gentleness. And his quiet companionship left an imprint on all of us, and on so many guests whose lives he touched during their time here.
We are left with a profound hole in our hearts. Meelie will always be remembered, always cherished, and forever part of this place.
